Strength in Numbers

If you’ve ever thought you (or your Cardiac Kid) were the only one, watch this:

Obviously, this was produced by/for the Adult Congenital Heart Association (ACHA). But as the text says, we support over one million adults. There is also an equal number of children living with a Heart Defect – it was just a few years ago that Adults with CHD became the majority.

As you watch the video, you’ll see that not all of us are Young Adults. There’s a number of us who are… more experienced, shall we say! No matter what your age, one of the best things you can do for yourself if you have a Congenital Heart Defect is to find an active group of CHD patients and get involved!

It will do you – and others – a world of good.

You are obviously online!! We don’t have an active support group here for adults, but a fairly active one for children. The adults seem to meet through the children’s support group (only 4mill people in NZ total). We tried an adult support group, but it kept fading out. My friend who helped me try to get one off the ground, passed away a few months ago – she was kinda a catalyst for many of us – so we know we are out there. And that’s all we need to know until we need someone.
